When I graduated from dental school, dental implants were considered experimental, although a few dentists were doing them with varied success. Over the years, I have seen implant systems come and go.  As an attorney, I have seen many implant cases that go wrong, usually when a restoring dentist or surgeon is not experienced, or a 'team' of dentists are not on the same page, or a dentist is not familiar with the specific product he or she is using. 

Now, implants are an integral part of dentistry, allowing restoration of the dentition that was never before possible.  Where an implant is indicated, and where the dentist is skillful and knowledgeable,  and where the patient is cooperative and fully informed of alternatives, an implant is frequently the correct choice.  Read on.
